It’s Friday! Let’s Fuck Shit Up Together!
Happy Friday, lovely! It’s time to fuck some shit up!
Twice a month, in accordance with the lunar cycles, we gather in circle here in your inbox for a salaciously good time. And times they are a-changin’!
This Friday newsletter has gotten RAVE reviews from y’all, and I couldn’t be more delighted by that. But the things you love to receive most seem to be the spell and the hex. So we’re making this one all about them and taking out the rest.
Don’t worry! For those of you who love to receive the self-care tips and the sex tips and the business tips, those will come back later in the month in a revised format. So keep an eye out for that. But this newsletter has gotten a bit of a makeover to help you receive more of what you want.
So without further ado, here’s the content you love!
✨ SPELL
Because this newsletter is sent out in conjunction with the lunar cycles, this segment offers you a moon ritual. Prior to all the stuff listed above, I studied art history as a way to develop an understanding of world religions. Since childhood, I’ve been on a spiritual journey to develop my own relationship to the divine. In no way do I have any interest in telling you what to believe or not believe. That’s for you. It’s personal. And for me, it’s cyclical. My spiritual practices have changed my relationship to time in such a beautiful way that I want to offer you a bit of that shift here by recognizing the cycles of the moon in order to hand you an opportunity to incorporate cyclical time into your experience of life. I work with many spiritual mentors, and ritualized practices are incorporated into the foundation of Project Reclamation—our equity-centered membership community—as well as the Reclamation Weekend retreats I host. And when you joined this email list, you received a Reclamation ritual from me. Again, I don’t care what you believe in or don’t believe in. Paying attention to the moon will help repair your relationship with time, which capitalism has fucked up for all of us. If you’d like to dive deeper into esoteric spirituality, though, keep your eyes peeled on your inbox for some fun stuff I’ve got coming up. 😉
We have a full moon coming up on Tuesday, September 17. A lot of witches will say not to do any kind of ritual in accordance with it, though, because it’s also an eclipse. And eclipse energy is chaotic.
I’m not one to run from scary things and I’m not afraid of a little chaos, but I will heed the warnings here and leave out the traditional ritual I offer with other full moons and share the practices I do for eclipses.
Rather than using eclipse season as a time to Release and Reclaim, which I do with other full and new moons, respectively, I use eclipse season as a time to reconnect with myself and ritualize my self-care.
This particular full moon eclipse is in Pisces, which is really deep and limitless. Think escapism, boundless imagination, and idealism. In its shadow form, it can also be associated with spiritual bypassing. So my recommendation to you this full moon is to tap into your own spirituality and what’s true for you.
Light a candle, hang out outside, gather some crystals, put on some music, draw a bath, or do whatever else will ritualize this moment for you. Use the following questions to dig into your own authentic spirituality.
✨Do you believe in something bigger than yourself?
✨If so, how do you describe it/what do you call it?
✨How do you know that it exists? (Or how are you certain that something doesn’t exist if you don’t believe in anything bigger than yourself?)
✨If you do believe in something bigger than yourself, how do you connect to it?
✨Is what you believe the same as or different from what you were taught to believe as a child? (Note any similarities and any differences.)
✨Are there any spiritual practices you’d like to learn more about or incorporate into your life? If so, what’s the first step in doing so, and what support do you need in place for it?
As I’ve stated many times, I consider myself an atheist. What’s also true is that I engage in multiple spiritual practices and have studied under several spiritual teachers. Personally, I think religion has done us all a disservice, and the American brand of evangelical Christianity (of which I was a part for a couple of years in high school) has really fucked everyone worldwide. You’re welcome to agree or disagree with that sentiment.
But for me, spiritual practices are more about connecting with what it means to be human at a deep core level. We all crave community. We all crave ritual. We all crave meaning. And we can get a lot of all three from spiritual practices, regardless of whether or not they’re associated with any form of religion.
So with this full moon eclipse, my invitation is for you to engage with your own spiritual beliefs inside of a spiritual practice outside of any religion. And I’d love to hear what you learn about yourself from these ritualized prompts! Reply to this email, post in the Project Reclamation group, or tag me on social and let me know what comes up!
✊ HEX
Politics is a not-so-secret passion of mine. I used to run a couple of political organizations here in Kansas City and lobby at the state level in Missouri with Planned Parenthood. The 2016 election is what led me into coaching after I lost my mind and a therapist told me I had “excellent coping skills” because I was focusing all my time and energy on political volunteerism. (When I say all my time and energy, I mean ALL. To the point of bankruptcy. Coaching saved me. Which is why I became a coach.) And in this segment, we might get a little petty. But we’ll always be aiming to reclaim our power from the cis-heteronormative, puritanical, white supremacist patriarchy we currently live under in this hellscape of climate change and late-stage capitalism. Here, I’ll offer suggestions on candidates to donate to, people to follow, podcasts to subscribe to, and answer the question of WHO ARE WE HEXING? (Josh Hawley is always on that list.)
Ok but did you see that debate??? SHE COOKED! (Am I using that phrase correctly? Someone with Gen Alpha kids please let me know. 🤣)
But here’s the thing: No matter how well she wiped the floor with him on that stage, it doesn’t mean she will win the election.
If you want her to win, though, check your voter registration and make sure it’s up to date.
If you want her to win, commit to voting.
If you want her to win, do NOT sit back and assume that she’ll be fine. (Remember how well that worked for Hillary?)
If you want her to win, do NOT sit this one out because “you’re in a red state so your vote doesn’t count.” (How many “red states” are actually just low-voter-turnout states???)
If you want her to win, be willing to do the uncomfortable thing and have hard conversations with the people you love and with the people in your neighborhood.
If you want her to win, put a sign in your yard, buy her merch, and donate to her campaign. (You may assume you’re the only one in your neighborhood…but you’re likely not the only one making that assumption. Be the brave one to set the example and let the others know they’re not alone.)
If you want her to win, be willing to step outside of what you’re familiar with and get involved with her campaign — phone bank, text bank, or canvas. (If you want to know what those experiences are like and how safe your info is, ask. I’ve done it all, and I’m happy to share my experiences with you. And if these actions seem scary, weigh that against how scary it may be if he wins. Which scary thing would you prefer?)
And if you want her to win, apply every single one of these points to the down-ballot candidates in your area. Because even if she does win, we will need to gain seats in the House and Senate for her plans to come to fruition.
Don’t leave this up to those who are already doing it. This is an all-hands-on-deck situation. We need you.
We’re not hexing anyone this week. Eclipse and all. I don’t want that shit to backfire. Instead, we’re supporting. Who are you supporting? If it’s Kamala, here’s her website. Get the merch, make a donation, and sign up to volunteer.

That’s it for this week, lovely! I appreciate you offering me space in your inbox. And I look forward to seeing you fuck some shit up today! ❤️🔥

P.S. If you’ve not yet joined, I want to invite you to Project Reclamation, a private, equitable, self-coaching community, to explore the most expansive version of yourself. Inside, you’ll receive tools for nervous system regulation, emotional processing, and cognitive self-coaching. Plus, you’ll have access to Master Certified Coaches to receive written coaching as well as live coaching via group calls. And you’ll be able to join in on an integrated book club, as well as both virtual and in-person community celebrations.
Maybe life coaching has felt out of reach for you in the past, as it’s often relegated to those hoarding enough wealth to be bored. But self-discovery doesn’t actually come in Tiffany boxes, and it is my goal to make healing and growth accessible to everyone.
Inside this space, we’re committed to reclaiming our bodies, our time, our joy, and our lives from all the cultural conditioning that has left us feeling less than. And we’re doing it in a vibrant, supportive community that is truly open to everyone who shares these values. (Though cis-het white Christian men may struggle a bit.)
Registration is now open, so click the link to join. See you on the inside!
